Pursuant to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anayasa.gov.tr\/tr\/mevzuat\/anayasa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Article 38 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey<\/a>, except for the obligations required by being a party to the International Criminal Court, a citizen cannot be extradited to a foreign country for an offense [5].<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Therefore, as a rule, extradition of Turkish citizens to the United States is not possible. However, the person\u2019s citizenship status, possibility of dual citizenship, date of offense, date of acquisition of citizenship, and the type of requested procedure must be separately examined in the specific file.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If it is alleged that a Turkish citizen committed an offense in the United States, different mechanisms such as conducting an investigation or prosecution in Turkey, mutual legal assistance, evidence sharing, or transfer of proceedings may arise instead of extradition.
