A red notice is issued so that a person can be prosecuted in the country where he or she has committed a crime or extradited to the country where he or she has been convicted. Interpol was founded in 1949 to track international crimes and apprehend criminals and has made agreements with many member countries to date. Red bulletins notify countries around the world where criminals are located, what crimes they have committed, their identity, the person to be detained and other details about the crime. <\/p>\n
A red notice<\/strong> usually relates to serious crimes, but is also applicable to international crimes such as drug trafficking, terrorism, organized crime, human trafficking and fraud. When a person is issued a red notice, Interpol member countries initiate legal proceedings to arrest and extradite that person to a specific country. Turkey is a member of Interpol and when a red notice is issued, legal proceedings can be initiated to extradite the person concerned to Turkey. <\/p>\n<\/span>What happens after the Red Notice is issued?<\/span><\/h2>\nWhen a red notice is issued, the guilty person can be arrested in another country. A red notice is only a search and seizure notice and does not automatically lead to extradition. Once a red notice has been issued, Turkey can submit an application for extradition. However, this application process will only be successful if it proceeds in accordance with legal procedures. Following the issuance of a red notice, the judicial authorities and local authorities of the country where the offender is located have to consider the extradition request from Turkey. <\/p>\n
